Privacy Policy

Summary: We collect the minimum needed to run the Service — an email if you make an account, what you submit, and basic usage data. We hash IP addresses for vote integrity (we don’t store raw IPs). We don’t sell your personal information.
1. Information we collect
- Account info — email address and, optionally, a display name and taste preferences you set.
- Content you submit — votes, suggested places, reviews, captions, video links, and uploaded video clips.
- Vote-integrity data — a one-way hashed version of your IP address plus a device fingerprint, used only to keep voting fair (one vote per person per category). We do not store raw IP addresses.
- Optional connections — if you connect Telegram for alerts, we store your Telegram chat identifier to deliver messages you asked for.
- Usage & device data — standard log and analytics data (pages viewed, approximate region from your network, browser type) collected by our hosting and infrastructure providers.
2. How we use it
To operate, secure, and improve the Service; to display your submissions; to keep voting fair; to personalize recommendations and search; to send notifications you opt into; to moderate content; and to communicate with you about your account.
3. How we share it
We share information only with:
- Service providers that run our infrastructure (hosting, database/auth, email delivery, and AI processing used for search, recommendations, and content moderation), under terms that limit their use of the data.
- The public — content you post (reviews, votes in aggregate, videos, display name) is shown publicly by design.
- Authorities when required by law, or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the Service.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Cookies
We use essential cookies for sign-in sessions and a cookie to remember a one-time geographic redirect. We don’t use advertising cookies.
5. Your choices and rights
You can edit your display name and preferences, disconnect Telegram, unfollow alerts, and request deletion of your account and associated personal data by emailing info@votedish.com. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data, or to object to certain processing; contact us to exercise them. Publicly posted content may persist in aggregate or backup form after account deletion.
6. Data retention & security
We keep personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to run the Service and meet legal obligations, then delete or anonymize it. We use reasonable safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.
7. Children
The Service isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we’ll delete it.
